Stanley Motta completed his undergraduate studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is Chairman of the board of Copa Holding (NYSE CPA), ASSA Group, as well as Inversiones Bahia, Ltd., a diversified holding company in Central America with investments in finance, media, retail and distribution sectors. Mr. Motta is Director of Banco General, Televisora Nacional and several other companies.
 
Over the past three decades, he has expanded his organization throughout Latin America, emphasizing the need for corporate social responsibility. He is Chairman of Sumarse, an organization for the promotion of CSR. He is a trustee of ANCON, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving biodiversity, is a member of the Latin American Council for Conservation in cooperation with TNC and the innovative City of Knowledge in Panama. He is also a founder and trustee of the Central America Leadership Initiative (CALI). He is a member of the Advisory Board of EGADE Business School (Tecnologico de Monterrey) and the IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. Additionally, he is a board member of the Trust for the Americas associated with the Organization of American States and was honored with the Americas Society Gold Medal 2010.
 
Mr. Motta was the chairman of the Regional Interoceanic Authority (ARI), the Panamanian government entity that received and managed the Panama Canal assets as the result of the Torrijos Carter Treaty between the United States and Panama.
